What we collect
When you send an enquiry, we receive your name and email address and anything else you include, such as your company, team size, the jobs or service you are interested in, and your message.
If you become a client, we also keep your contact and billing details and the information you share with us during the work.
How the enquiry form works
When you press Send, your answers go to a small form handler that we run on Cloudflare. It emails them to our inbox and does not keep a copy.
To block spam, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile. Once you start filling in the form, it checks that a person is using it, from technical information about your browser and device, such as your IP address. Cloudflare’s Turnstile privacy addendum explains how it uses that information.
If the form handler cannot be reached, the form opens your own email app instead, with your answers filled in.
How we use it
| Purpose | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| To reply to your enquiry and talk about the work | Our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us, or steps you ask us to take before a contract |
| To keep spam out of the enquiry form | Our legitimate interest in protecting the form from misuse |
| To provide the services you buy, and to invoice for them | Performance of a contract |
| To keep business and tax records | Legal obligation |
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data.
We share it only with the services we use to run the business: our email providers (Cloudflare, which forwards our email, Google, which hosts the inbox, and Brevo, which sends our replies), our website host (Cloudflare, which also runs the enquiry form and its spam check), and anyone who helps us with our accounts.
We may also share it where the law requires us to.
Cookies
This website does not set cookies and does not use analytics or tracking.
Data outside the UK
Some of these providers may store or process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use safeguards recognised under UK law, such as adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to work: 12 months from our last contact, then deleted.
- Project files and contact details: deleted 24 months after the work ends.
- Invoices and payment records: kept for as long as tax law requires. For a sole trader, that is at least 5 years after the 31 January Self Assessment deadline for the tax year they relate to.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your personal data, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or send it to you in a portable format. You can also object to how we use it.
To do any of these, email [email protected]. We will reply within one month, and in most cases there is no charge.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can try to put it right.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this notice
We will update this notice if the way we use personal data changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
